Our Founders George and Nicole share a passion for wine.
George has a deep knowledge of wine, gleaned from over 20 years in the industry, but never foists his wisdom on to others. Rather George prefers to help anyone and everyone develop an appreciation for wine, in an easy to understand way, sharing the history, stories and passion of great wine.
Nicole is a 20+ year corporate escapee, who understands the importance of stories, relationships and transparency.
Together they are committed to honouring the vision of our amazing founders, while also understanding that as much as the wine world has evolved, great wine moments still create lasting memories.
Coldstream Hills in the iconic Yarra Valley, is one of Australia’s premier cool climate wine-makers renowned for their Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Wolf Blass Cellar Door is set on the very same Barossa Valley spot where founder and winemaking pioneer Wolfgang Blass AM began his original winery. Today it’s an ultra-modern, state of the art facility, with a tasting room that is second-to-none. After 22 years at Treasury Wine Estates, Penfolds Director of Fine Wine and Global Direct to Consumer, George Samios, will leave TWE’s head office and move full time to his business Penali Cellar Door which has been engaged by TWE to lead its wine education and experience programs at its four cellar doors: Wynns Coonawarra Estate, Coldstream Hills, Wolf Blass and Saltram.
Penali is owned and operated by Mr Samios and the four cellar doors continue to be owned by Treasury Wine Estates………
